My favourite walk in Pullman

  • My favourite walk in Pullman was from home on Pioneer Hill to WSU. Walk down Spring and take a right on Derby. Down the hill. Then, cut through brambles on Koppel Farm and get to Tam’s Place to have breakfast with friends. At the base of the hill beneath the back of Tam’s I could (in younger days) get myself up the steep hill on a sort of path. Once I got to the top, I was behind Tam’s and I’d walk to the side and into the restaurant door. Later, I used the sturdy metal staircase in front of Coffeehouse Apartments. I’d end up on the Pullman Road and take a left on the sidewalk and get to Tams. After breakfast, I’d walk up Stadium Way on the sidewalk (starting near the stone wall WSU sign) to office in French Ad. During the winter I always appreciated the sidewalks being shoveled or clear because some of them were over steam pipes. Heat from the pipes radiated up and melted the snow and ice.

  • After work, namely after work when I was working half time, I enjoyed walking from French Ad past the CUB on the right and on Terrell Mall. Over past Murrow and down the hill. Past Simpson UMC and to the bus stop near Porchlight Pizza/then Swilly’s.
