Taegeuk pinwheels, South Korea

Pinwheel patterned with the "taegeuk," a symbol on South Korea flag, similar to pinwheels which whirl outside the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History in central Seoul, South Korea, celebrating anniversary of Liberation Day, which falls on Aug. 15.

The National Liberation Day of Korea is a holiday celebrated annually on August 15 in both North and South Korea. It commemorates Victory over Japan Day, when U.S. and Soviet forces ended the decades-long Japanese occupation of Korea.
