June 1, 1918 -- John Joseph Marsh dies at age 49 of influenza in Bellingham, Wash. He is buried at Bayview Cemetery, Bellingham, Wash., next to his first wife, Mary Earley Marsh, and his second wife, Margaret Ella Earley Marsh Kees, who were sisters.
